Tickets vanishing for PGA Championship on Kiawah

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Organizers for the 2012 PGA Championship at Kiawah Island's Ocean Course say they have sold 94 percent of available tickets during a six-week sales window.

Fewer than 1,000 tickets are available for the second round. Third-round tickets are sold out and less than 500 tickets are left for the final round. Remaining tickets won't go on sale for South Carolina's first major championship until after this year's PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club.

The tournament got about 20,000 online registrants after announcing its ticket plans last summer. Those interested were broken up into groups with each segment having a specific time to purchase tickets.

There are also fewer than 500 of the 10,000 Wanamaker weeklong passes left for sale.
