WCBD-TV 2 offers internships to qualified students interested in pursuing a career in broadcast journalism. Interns will be placed on News programs and in departments in our Mt. Pleasant, SC station, where they will be exposed to all aspects of a news organization. Interns will gain knowledge of news production and the implementation of news coverage. To be eligible, applicants must have attained at least a junior year standing in an undergraduate program. The internships are nonpaying and some are non-technical in nature. Applicants must receive academic credit in return for the internship. OBJECTIVES: NEWS
To provide interns with real world experience that furthers their knowledge of broadcast news and prepares them to enter the job market as a qualified candidate. Interns will write stories for newscasts, go out with reporters and have the opportunity to create a resume tape. COUNTON2.com
COUNTON2.com, the 24-hour operation of WCBD-TV 2, produces text news stories, audio and video and interactive components while covering breaking news and reporting original features. Web site staffers also work with TV correspondents to produce network content for the Web site. Projects within COUNTON2.com include Editorial (including national and international news, business, science & technology and entertainment sections), Graphics, Broadband Video, Photo & Graphics and Technical Production.
