North Charleston Police are looking for a man wanted after he avoided a traffic stop.
According to Spencer Pryor, the North Charleston Police spokesman, "Shortly after 2pm officers attempted a traffic stop on a subject driving a Chevrolet Camero at Highway 78 near Trident Hospital. The driver sped off and continued down 78 to NAD Road.
The suspect left his chevy camero about four miles from the National Guard Armory. He then led started running on foot, leading the police on a manhunt through the woods surronding the airport and air force base.
Officers along with K-9 units, as well as a Charleston county helicopter have been searching the area for the suspect.
Officers believe that the suspect may have been involved or have knowledge of several shooting incidents that previously happened in North Charleston.
The black male suspect was wearing black shorts and a white tee shirt.
Pryor says, "Despite what some have reported, there was NO weapon involved in this incident nor did a shooting take place."
