Ron Paul comes in 4th in SC Primary

Texas Congressmen Ron Paul finished fourth in South Carolina's primary.

Paul greeted his loyal supporters at Jillian's in Columbia just an hour after several media agencies declared Newt Gingrich the winner.

After finishing third in Iowa and second in New Hampshire, Paul and his Columbia contingency said a last place finish in the Palmetto State is still a win in their election playbook.

Paul said his campaign will continue long after South Carolina's final votes are tabulated.

SC Primary results:

2,125 of 2,136 precincts - 99 percent

x-Newt Gingrich 242,417 - 40 percent
Mitt Romney 167,419 - 28 percent
Rick Santorum 101,914 - 17 percent
Ron Paul 77,943 - 13 percent
Herman Cain 6,315 - 1 percent
Rick Perry 2,527 - 0 percent
Jon Huntsman 1,178 - 0 percent
Michele Bachmann 495 - 0 percent
Gary Johnson 213 - 0 percent
