Mayor Joe Riley throws his support behind President Obama

In the midst of campaigning, debates, and even attack ads, Charleston Mayor Joe Riley is throwing his support behind the Democratic candidate.

Saturday, Riley held a press conference with the College of Charleston Democrats, as well as South Carolina's college Democrats.

Riley says 4 years ago, a majority of the city voted for president Barack Obama and now is the time to remember the good things he's done.

Recently, Mitt Romney questioned student's support for President Obama and Saturday, the college Democrats say they wanted to prove his statement wrong.

One student said Obama has done a lot for students, including signing the affordable health care act which allows students to remain covered by their parents insurance until the age of 26.

Riley said he chose now to show support to the President because many of the candidates are in Charleston for the taping of Governor Mike Huckabee's forum "South Carolina Undecided", which airs Saturday night, January 14th at 8:00pm.
