3 of Colleton County's 10 "Most Wanted" sit behind bars

Three of Colleton County's 10 most wanted criminals sit behind bars as sheriff's deputies continue searching for the remaining seven.

The arrests of Joseph Duncan, William Raynor and Tasha Memminger come a week after deputies released the list of the county's most notorious criminals.

It's progress that pleases the county's sheriff.

"Thirty percent in 48 hours, I'd say that's pretty good," Greg Malone said over the phone.

Colleton deputies arrested Duncan and Raynor--two convicted sex offenders who failed to register for the second time--in Walterboro on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, respectively. Memminger was arrested just before midnight Wednesday in Greenville County; she faces four charges of failing to appear after running from authorities for several fraudulent check warrants.

Memminger's arrest was based on information supplied to Greenville County Sheriff’s Office from a citizen after learning Memminger was one of Colleton County's "Most Wanted."

Seven criminals remain at large. Colleton officials continue asking for the public's help in finding them.

"We want the citizens to be aware of who it is we're looking for, too," Malone said, speaking about the importance of the community seeing the criminals' mug shots. "They may be having daily contact with some of these people and not aware that they are wanted."

John Brown, facing an attempted murder charge. Clinton Grant is number three on the list with weapons and narcotics charges. Police want Xavier Holmes, number four, for failure to appear bench warrants, armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy. Billy Ray Hinson rounds out the top five facing general session bench warrants for failure to appear and drug violations.

Duncan, Raynor and Memminger occupied the county's number six, seven and nine spot while Gary Parm and Fred and Mary Cunningham complete the list.
