CHARLESTON, S.C. - The state Forestry Commission has charged an Andrews man with failing to pay a landowner for wood cut on some Berkeley County property.

Commission investigators say 37-year-old Robert C. Woodard had reached an agreement with a Jamestown landowner for timber valued at nearly $4,500.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported the landowner was paid only $1,800.

Woodard was arrested when he failed to make full payment within 45 days.

Woodard was being held in the Berkeley County jail. It was not clear if he has an attorney.
