Officials are still investigating a fire from the Noisette Apartments that began Friday morning. Neighbors speculate the fire might have started in the kitchen. They said from what they know about the neighbors where the fire started is there was a problem with one child playing with the stove.

The woman of the apartment where the fire started was hanging out of her window screaming for help at the same time Reginald Curry was stepping outside of his home nearby. When he heard screaming, he was able to help all occupants evacuate the building.

"There was a woman hanging out of her window and she was screaming, I ran over there, there was flames coming out, smoke coming out and she had the baby in her hand." Curry said. "I ran over there and told her to drop the baby. She dropped the baby in my hands, passed it off to a neighbor... ran upstairs, grabbed the baby and brought the baby out."

People at the apartment said the little boys rescued were one and three-years-old and they suspect the older one may have turned the stove on.

The mother was life flighted to Augusta's burn hospital. Her aunt spoke with neighbors at the apartment and said the mother and her two children will undergo surgery for skin grafts.
