GEORGETOWN, S.C. - As far as the city of Georgetown is concerned, actors portraying Lady Liberty to advertise an income tax services violate the town's ban on three-dimensional signs.

SCNow.com of Florence reported that city officials have told Liberty Tax Service it cannot use people dressed as Lady Liberty to advertise the business on city streets.

A city ordinance bans three dimensional signs. Elizabeth Tucker with the city says anything that identifies a business is considered a sign.

The company says it had to let eight employees go because of the ban.
