The Charleston County Coroner's office confirms that Ernest Ewald III died Sunday night after his motorcycle and a car crashed Sunday afternoon.
Charleston County Sheriff's deputies continue to investigate the motorcycle and car accident that happened on Highway 78.
Around 4:30 Sunday afternoon, authorities responded to Highway 78 in Ladson. The Summerville man, 38, was pronounced dead at Trident Hospital.
Deputies closed part of the highway after the accident, but it has since been re-opened.
