In the aftermath of Monday's high speed police chase that ended in Timothy McManus being arrested, some residents are questioning whether Sheriff Al Cannon should face charges for slapping McManus after his arrest.
"I was angry, I approached the vehicle in which McManus, handcuffed had been placed, opened the back door and asked him loudly, using a profanity: 'What the (BLANK) is wrong with you?'" Cannon said during a press conference Wednesday. "[McManus] replied 'Ain't nothin' wrong with me man.'"
Cannon admitted his anger and guilt during Monday's chase and altercation with McManus.
Because Cannon and other Charleston County deputies fired their guns, the State Law Enforcement Division has since taken over the investigation.
News 2 wants to know what legal rights McManus has and what charges Cannon could face.
