Both southbound and northbound lanes of the Ravenel Bridge are now open.
The bridge was shut down to traffic for over two hours Thursday because of a individual in a Lexus SUV threatening to harm himself.
The suspect in the SUV had ominous writings on the windows such as, "Game Over" and "Happy Now."
The SUV attempted to get away from the surrounding police presence by ramming the concrete barriers on the Ravenel Bridge and trying to turn around the SUV several times.
Around 5PM SCDOT cameras showed officers rushing the SUV apparently ending the standoff. News 2 has confirmed that the suspect is in custody.
News 2 has learned the Lexus SUV involved in the standoff is registered to Phillip DeClemente. DeClemente previously worked for a medical supply business, Abacare, which has locations in North Charleston and Mount Pleasant. He was also a former member of the Charleston County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad but he has not been an active memeber for at least a year.
Police are advising motorist to take an alternate route to get to Mount Pleasant.
The southbound lane of the Ravenel bridge was opened earlier during the standoff to let traffic stuck on the bridge drive off.
