Mitt Romney gave a foreign policy speech at The Citadel Friday. The former MA governor was well received by the, historically conservative, school.
And much like the entire state of South Carolina, the military school, is a friendly environment for republican candidates.
For most republicans tailoring a speech for South Carolina voters, is not a tricky task. The state has a strong conservative backing, the Citadel and it's cadets, who are well read on the current political landscape, are no different.
The military school was the perfect place for Romney to deliver his speech on U.S. foreign policy and defense.
The speech highlighted future threats and how America needs to reassert it's presence on the world stage.
It's a message most cadets at The Citadel want to get behind. Because on the front-lines, they have sacrificed. Sixteen former cadets have been killed since the war on terror began. On average, about 40 percent of its cadets graduate as commissioned officers into the military.
