About 200 volunteers set out to search for Brittanee Drexel Saturday morning.

"We've got close to 200 people that have signed in. And we've got all those returning plus a few more tomorrow," Monica Caison with the CUE Center for Missing Persons said.

Professional searchers from eight different states rode ATV’s and horses and handled search dogs during the all day search. The large support team is just what Caison needs to cover the 12 mile radius she has set up for this weekend to find Brittanee Drexel.

"We're going to continue to eliminate space because that's what a search is,” said Caison. “It's a continuation of elimination of space and knowing where that person is not. And finally hopefully get to a place where that person is."

“I’m confident in the effort I put forth whether we find anything or not, that’s something we can’t determine but we give one hundred percent,” Dwayne Baker, one of several search team leaders, said.

Baker traveled from north-western North Carolina to the search.

The search area is a large one that has not been fully searched in the past, Caison said. Volunteers are back after the CUE center received a tip, she said.

"We've got 5.8 miles that we're focusing on, and that's just one way. We've got two sides of that," Caison said. The search will continue on Sunday.

While the search so far has been long and expansive, one thing it is not is close to over, Caison said.

"We're not giving up. We're going to be here for the long haul. We'll be here until Brittanee Drexel is found one way or another. And we're going to continue to eliminate space," Caison said.

Drexel, an upstate New York teen, was last seen on April 25, 2009 on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach during a spring break trip. Her cell phone last gave off signal near the area that is being searched this weekend.

Drexel’s mother, Dawn Drexel, arrived in the area Thursday for the search.

“I think it's wonderful that Brittanee's case is still active. They're still searching for Brittany. We're not going to stop until we find her,” Dawn Drexel said.

Since Brittanee Drexel’s disappearance, numerous searches have occurred, none of which have turned up any solid leads.
