Charleston firefighters put out a massive fire that destroyed two homes and damaged at least one other on Nunan Street Wednesday morning.
Firefighters responded to the call just before 10 a.m. and arrived to find three homes burning. The middle house, which is where the flames were concentrated, collapsed shortly after firefighters arrived.
It took firefighters awhile to put out hot spots.
At least one of the homes was being renovated, but whether people lived in the others is not yet known.
Firefighters are now beginning the investigation into the cause of the fire, but right now they do not suspect this is the work of the serial arsonist.
4 streets were closed for hours after the fire. Rutledge Ave from Fishburne Street to the Crosstown, Nunan Street, Kennedy Street, Ashley Ave from Kennedy Street to Nunan Street were all closed to traffic. Nunan street was the last to open, around 5:00pm. We're told everything is back to normal.
