If you have an eye for the strange and possibly extra-terrestrial, you might want to listen to this. A Simpsonville man says he has proof there's something in outer space, we can't explain.
"Just here on the porch, chilling out, and there it was!"
"I don't think it was anything of this world, I really don't."
Jawad Ashy shot the video, that has a lot of people talking.
Jawad Ashy - "I went from oh wow, I'm excited. To oh wow, I'm kinda weirded out, to oh wow, I'm a little scared!"
Ashy says he spotted something Sunday night that even modern science can't explain, but maybe his camera could....
Ashy -"It's not a saucer, not an airplane.."
It's a blue blob bouncing across the sky. Ashy is convinced it's a UFO.
Ashy - "At first I was like wow this is pretty cool, and then when it would get big at times, I was like oh no, it's seen us, it's coming to get us!"
Reporter - "You realize this is all crazy talk." Ashy - "Well, it's crazy til you see it!"
Melissa Keeney - WSPA - "Ashy says the camera doesn't lie, but we wanted proof. Was this the stuff of science or something really out of this world?
Ed Richards is a lifetime lover of astronomy, who also had his eyes to the sky last night. But he's never saw this.
According to Richards, both Venus and Jupiter are visible right now, but neither fits this phenomenon.
Which he's quick to say might NOT be what we think.
Ed Richards - "It's an extraordinary claim, and takes extraordinary evidence and so to say that it's something that's not military or something like that, it takes a lot to prove that."
As for Ashy? - "I'm an amateur UFO hunter now."
In a normal neighborhood, he says something this special is really out of sight.
Richards says those who have a fascination with space can always come to the Astronomy club at the Roper Mountain Science Center.
They meet every Friday night at the center, starting at 7:00.
