North Charleston police on Thursday released surveillance photos of a man they say robbed the BB&T bank on Northwoods Boulevard Wednesday, and may have committed other bank robberies in Charleston County.

Police said the bank at 2152 Northwoods Boulevard just after 4:30 pm.

The suspect pictured in the photo is a black man, 35-40 years old, wearing a gray hooded jacket and a knit cap.

Police said he handed the telling a note claiming to have a gun although he never showed one.

The teller complied with the robber’s request and the suspect exited the bank with an undetermined amount of money.

The suspect in this robbery appears to be the same individual responsible for other bank robberies in the Charleston area.

North Charleston Investigators are working with Charleston City and County Sheriff’s office.

Anyone with information should contact North Charleston Police at 554-5700 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111
