A seven year old boy is dead after he was hit by a car on Friday.
North Charleston Police say Devonte Bonaparte was playing in the yard when he ran into the street, and was struck by a passing vehicle.
Bonaparte was taken to MUSC, where he later died.
Police say no charges have been brought against the driver, and it does not appear that speed was a factor in the accident.
Bonaparte's eighth birthday was today.
