As a safety precaution, Berkeley County Water & Sanitation is issuing a boil water advisory for residents in the Del Webb Community of Cane Bay Plantation.

A contractor working in this area damaged a BCWS water main. Once pressure has been re-established, BCWS will begin flushing the mains and taking water samples to ensure safe drinking water is restored to your home. This process takes 24 hours to obtain the results of the samples.

Until further notification, residents are asked to boil all water that is used for drinking, cooking, and making ice prior to use. To ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria, the water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil, and then boiled for an additional minute.

Residents can call 843-572-4400 or visit www.bcwsa.com if they have any questions.
