Senator Lindsey Graham says the tea party will die out and he "ain't gay."
That's according to a New York Times' profile piece on the senator from South Carolina that hit stands Monday.
The article declares Graham the Maverick of the Year for his bi-partisan stance on politics. Graham described himself as "completely opposite" the tea party and called the movement “unsustainable”.
In the article, he goes on to address comments from a South Carolina tea party rally where a speaker suggested Democrats had threatened to "out" Graham.
Graham said "like maybe I’m having a clandestine affair with Ricky Martin. I know it's really gonna upset a lot of gay men - i'm sure hundreds of 'em are gonna be jumping off the golden gate bridge. - but i ain't available. i ain't gay. Sorry."
Graham also told the magazine the GOP lacks leaders and said “Ronald Reagan would have a hard time getting elected as a Republican today."
