Animal advocates in the Lowcountry are to support the release of the USPS “Adopt A Shelter Pet” stamps.
The stamps, which go on sale at Post Offices on April 30th, picture shelter pets which were adopted and given good homes.
The stamps are available online at “Stamps to the Rescue.com”.
The stampstotherescue.com/ website has a counter that shows the number of stamps purchased which in turn will feed a million animals.
This cause is supported by Halo Pet Food, which is co-owned by Ellen DeGeneres, and will donate up to 1 million meals nationwide to local animal shelters and Halo will donate 5,000 meals for animal shelters in SC.
In order to help more animals and encourage people to spread the word, USPS has printed more of these stamps than any other commemorative stamp: 300 million (normal printing, 25-40 million)
“We plan on using the stamps on all our letters and correspondence, more stamps on envelopes will send the message to more supporters—worldwide”...Jim Bush, Executive Director, Charleston Animal Society.
