The Clemson Athletic Department confirmed Tuesday morning's reports that Head Basketball Coach Oliver Purnell is out as head coach of the Tigers, and bound for DePaul.
Pete Yanity of our sister-station WSPA, and voice of the Tigers confirmed the reports with Clemson officials early Tuesday morning.
The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Purnell will be introduced as the new coach at DePaul at 1:30 Tuesday.
Reports also say Purnell agreed to a seven-year contract worth $15 million.
Purnell coached seven seasons at Clemson, leading the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament each of the last three years. However, the Tigers are 0-3 in those three years.
