San Diego ACORN fires employee caught on tape discussing human trafficking

The House has voted yes to an amendment banning federal funding to the community organizing group.

The Senate has also voted to deny funds.

This following the controversy over a string of recently released embarrassing videos produced by conservative activists.

The most recent being a video showing a couple posing as a pimp and prostitute discussing human trafficking with a San Diego ACORN employee.

Thursday, the San Diego ACORN director admitted the tape is real, but said the employee involved would stay on board.

Hours later, he changed his mind and fired Juan Carlos Vera.

After all the bad press, ACORN announced it will impose a hiring freeze and conduct an independent review of its programs.

"We've concluded that he acted imperfectly in a difficult situation," said David Lagstein, the director of ACORN, "San Diego but we're not going to allow him to be victimized by a witch hunt. We are getting an outside, independent evaluation and will resume with our work, once that committee feels that it's appropriate to do so."

Vera said, "I never in my life did something wrong. They destroyed my family...okay."
