Gregory Rother is accused of brandishing two knives as he held a woman he met online captive.
FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - Police in Fairfax County, Va., say a man terrorized a woman he met online at her home, then forced her to drive him away.
Police say the woman's erratic driving caught the attention of a George Mason University police officer in Fairfax and she jumped out and ran to the officer.
Officer Tawny Wright says the 23-year-old woman told police she met 26-year-old Dennis Rother through a personal ad on Craigslist and they had been on two previous dates when he went to her apartment on Saturday.
Police say Rother threatened her with knives then forced her into the car.
Rother is charged with aggravated sexual battery, abduction, assault, felony destruction of property and being drunk in public.
