A gorilla escaped from its enclosure forcing a the Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens in Columbus to temporarily shut down Friday.

Visitors were put out of the zoo for about 45 minutes as workers lured "Mike" the gorilla back to his cage.

A spokesperson from the zoo says workers recaptured the animal about five minutes after he escaped.

A food service worker was injured, but the extent of that injury is not known.

It's not clear how the Gorilla managed to escape.

One woman at the zoo said she tried to warn other visitors that the gorilla was on the loose but no one believed her.
