This year the red cross says they've helped 138 fire victims in the lowcountry. That's a 38 percent increase in families needing assistance because of a fire, compared to last year. We want to highlight their work as they are an organization that consistently helps families in need in our area...it is specially important in these tough economic times. Kimberly Johnson and her family are among those who have lost their homes in a fire. Johnson and her husband, their four children, her sister and her children and their mom, all lived in a trailer in bonneau. Their home caught fire before christmas.
