The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports that Andree Frohmann stepped down Thursday, the same day that the shelter reopened. She had replaced Renee Macklen, who was fired shortly after the facility closed.

The Horry County Humane Society board said Wednesday the shelter in Conway was ready to reopen, with new procedures that will reduce the chances of another outbreak.
