» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

Flights get delayed, but for two-and-a-half years?

Finally, a maiden flight Tuesday for the Dreamliner.

It's the plane Boeing's banking its future on.

It'll also have a major economic impact on the Lowcountry, since Boeing will house one of its Dreamliner plants in North Charleston.

And the test flight is getting under way in Washington state.

Boeing says the 787 will produce fewer emissions, be quieter and use 20 percent less fuel compared to regular aircraft.

The test flight was supposed to take place more than two years ago but the program has had technical set-backs.
