Interview with Frank Thompson, father of Brad Thompson who lost his life in the Sofa Super Store fire in June of 2007 (more)In a ceremony Friday morning, the Pine Ridge Fire Department dedicated Myers Road to Brandon Thompson, who was killed in the 2007 Sofa Super Store fire.
Friday's event happened at 11 a.m. at the Pine Ridge Fire Station, at 565 Myers Road. The station is just off US 17-A near Summerville.
Thompson served as a captain with Pine Ridge FD, and an engineer with the Charleston Fire Department. Thompson was assigned to Ladder 5 on the night of June 18, 2007...the night nine Charleston firefighters died fighting a massive fire at the Sofa Super Store on Savannah Highway.
