The aeronautical training center at Trident Technical College is busy with people hoping to get a job at Boeing's new 787 assembly plant.

Trident Technical College offers courses in aircraft assembly and maintenance. These courses will likely fufill the job requirement for a background in manufacturing or maintenance for many of the 3,000 jobs Boeing plans to fill. They currently fufill the requirements for a job at Global Aeronautica.

Aircraft assembly courses are 2 semesters, while aircraft maintenance take 6 semesters to complete.

Trident Tech has received over 700 calls from potential students following the October announcement of Boeing coming to North Charleston.

To meet demand, Trident Technical College is increasing courses offered from 3 to 4 for the upcoming spring semester. They plan to expand to 6 classes in Fall of 2010.

Those who are interested in the courses should apply at Trident Technical College on Rivers Ave. in North Charleston.

If you are interested in preapplying for a boeing job go to sctechjobs.com. They will begin hiring for the new facility at the end of 2010.
