Carlos Dunlap
Florida defensive end, and former Fort Dorchester star, Carlos Dunlap was arrested overnight for driving under the influence, according to a police report.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, police arrested the 20-year-old at 3:25 a.m. after finding Dunlap's vehicle sitting at a complete stop through several cycles of a traffic light.
The article says, "Dunlap appeared to be asleep at the wheel of his Chrysler while the car's clutch was still in gear, according to the report. Officers had to reach into the car to turn off the ignition and finally awoke a "very groggy" Dunlap, the report states."
Dunlap also reportedly showed signs of being drunk including bloodshot eyes, and a smell of alcohol on his breath.
The article says, "Dunlap told officers he was 'at a gathering and headed home,' according to the report." He refused the breath test, and officers took him to jail.
The papers says Dunlap was taken to the Aluchua County jail and charged with second degree misdemeanor DUI, which is a first offense. He is expected to face a bond judge sometime Tuesday morning.
Dunlap and his Florida Gators are preparing to play in the South Eastern Conference Championship Game on Saturday.
