From Florida to Pennsylvania, from Ohio to Colorado, in the big battleground states that will decide this election, voters are jamming the polls.

John McCain cast his ballot in Phoenix.

Barack Obama voted in Chicago.

Obama and wife Michelle took their daughters with them to the voting booths.

He finished wearing a smile.

John and Cindy mccain had campaigned into the night.

They cast their votes in Phoenix as millions of Americans joined them.

The turnout was big and the lines were long.

Here: Florida, a key swing state.

“This is my first national election, and we are so excited about voting for first time, this morning, I actually cried,” said one voter.

Many African Americans were especially moved.

“So it's huge to know that in one lifetime she was able to see it go from no rights to possibly having the first African American president,” said Knight.

Voting in California today, in Michigan, in South Carolina and in Ohio another key battleground state problems were reported.

In Chesapeake Virginia, they switched to paper ballots

Obama left Illinois for neighboring Indiana a red state he hopes to win.

He said he'll be sentimental tonight but today he was still campaigning.

John McCain headed to his last campaign event in Colorado a red state that McCain hopes to hold onto.

Sarah Palin went back in Wasilla to cast her ballot saying she'll always be Sarah from Alaska

Now, tomorrow I hope, I pray, I believe at I’ll be able to wake up as vice president-elect, said Palin.

Joe Biden visited a polling place in Virginia one of several states where he and Obama could lock up a win

"But it ain't over til it's over, so we're waiting 'til the votes close, right guys?" said Biden.

No choice.

Now the nation and the world are waiting.
