» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

When severe weather strikes, do you know the difference between a watch and a warning?

A WATCH is issued when conditions are favorable for the development of a certain type of hazardous weather, such as flooding, severe thunderstorms, or tornadoes.  When a watch is issued, you are urged to begin making plans and preparations for the possibility of hazardous weather.

A WARNING is issued when the hazardous weather is actually happening or imminent.  When a warning is issued, you should put your plans and preparations into action.
