Upstate gets much needed rainfall
Warm and humid air is combining with a potent storm system to produce widespread rain across much of western South Carolina. Rain, some of it quite heavy, is expected to continue through much of the day and into Wednesday across the Upstate.
Areas generally along and north of Interstate 85 could see as much as 3-4” of rain before a cold front crosses the region on Wednesday. Due to the extremely dry soil conditions, heavy rain is expected to run off rapidly into streams and creeks which could cause flash flooding. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for portions of western South Carolina.
