A strong storm system will head toward the Eastern Seaboard today bringing with it rain, ice, snow, and even thunderstorms.

Ice and snow will continue on the north side of the storm’s track with showers and thunderstorms to the south.  Significant amounts of snow and ice are expected across much of Pennsylvania, New York state and north through New England while rain and gusty winds occur to the south.

By late Wednesday, rain will exit the South Carolina coast, but will continue across much of the Mid-Atlantic states.  Gusty winds will also accompany the storm as it crosses the Lowcountry.

Cooler air will return to the Carolinas as the storm departs late Wednesday through Friday.
