Major winter storm heads east

A major winter storm will bring the potential for crippling amounts of ice to many cities in the Midwest, Southern Plains, and Ohio Valley. 

The almost perfect setup for a damaging ice storm is developing from eastern Oklahoma northeast through Arkansas, Missouri, northwest Tennessee, and Kentucky through today. Some areas from Arkansas northeast into Kentucky could see ice totals approach 2-3”.

On the northern side of the ice zone, heavy snow could develop, especially over interior section of the Northeast.
