A winter of discontent is gripping much of the Midwest.
Near Milwaukee, bitter and blustery conditions caused treacherous roads.
In northern Michigan snow resulted in a near white out.
In Fargo, North Dakota, temperatures dropped to 21 below zero, and along Lake Superior it was even colder.
The worst may not be over.
Forecasters say another blast of cold Canadian air is on the way.
So far it’s been enough to freeze the Chicago River.
