A few coastal showers were trying to move on the Charleston County coastline early this morning but not having much luck. Instability that is causing the showers is limited to the coastal waters as drier air is in place over land. A few showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon as the sea breeze moves inland. High temperatures today with a mix of sun and clouds will be in the upper 80’s. Swells continue to move in from Hurricane Ike producing an enhanced risk of rip currents. Be careful if you plan to go in the ocean!
A cold front off to our west will approach tomorrow bringing a better chance of showers and thunderstorms along with a good amount of cloud cover. This frontal boundary will stall out nearby continuing the threat of showers and storms through Thursday before starting to fizzle out on Friday. Good news for the weekend as drier weather moves in and temperatures heat up. Only a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm is possible this weekend with temperatures in the low to middle 90’s.
