Weather 01/20A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the following counties: Berkeley, Inland Colleton, Dorchester, Orangeburg, and Williamsburg.
Periods of snow, mixed with rain near the coast, will continue through midday and taper to flurries and isolated snow showers during the afternoon. Accumulations of up to one inch are possible across the advisory, with little or no accumulation expected farther east. Temperatures will likely hover in the 30s to around 40 degrees all day long. Gusty northwest winds will make it feel much colder with wind chill values diving into the 20s during the afternoon.
Another very cold air mass will rush into the Lowcountry today and tonight. Skies will clear overnight with temperatures falling rapidly into the 20s shortly after sunset. Many of us will wake up to the mercury reading between 18 and 23 degrees inland, with 23-27 degree readings at the coast by Wednesday morning.
You can expect another cold day on Wednesday with high temperatures struggling into the lower and middle 40s despite full sunshine. Another round of 20s is on the way Wednesday night before slightly milder air begins to arrive on Thursday.
High temperatures will be in the lower to middle 50s on Thursday with 60s possible by Friday. Another cold front will approach the area over the weekend with a chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures will head back down into the lower and middle 50s by the first part of next week.
