Monday AM Forecast Discussion
High pressure building off the middle Atlantic coastline will allow for an onshore flow into the Lowcountry over the next several days. Today will be a repeat of the past several days with a good amount of sunshine and only a slight chance of a shower along the sea breeze during the afternoon. Highs will be a few degrees cooler, thanks to the onshore flow, in the upper 80’s to around 90. A slightly better chance of showers/storms will be around on Tuesday but the better chances for rain will come in on Wednesday and Thursday. A cold front approaching from the west will merge with the onshore regime and moisture spreading up from Hurricane Ike causing widespread showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon. The frontal boundary will start to wash out on Friday and lead to reduced chances for rainfall as we head into the weekend.
