Gamecocks Give Complete Effort in 52-42 Win at No. 14/14 Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. - South Carolina’s efficient offense in the first half and steady defense throughout the game delivered a 52-42 win
over No. 14/14 Georgia at Stegeman Coliseum Sunday afternoon. Valerie Nainima led the way with 21 points, but again it was a
complete effort from the Gamecocks (13-10, 6-5 SEC) that spurred the program’s first win over a top-15 team since Dec. 13, 2005.

Stingrays Drop 4-3 Shootout Thriller to Johnstown

Johnstown, PA – The South Carolina Stingrays (31-13-4-5) fired 42 shots on goal, but fell 4-3 in the shootout to the Johnstown Chiefs (13-26-5-3) in front of 1,528 at Cambria County War Memorial Arena Saturday night. Stingrays forward Gregg Johnson continued his scoring streak potting a goal and an assist in the loss.

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Malcolm Delaney tied the Virginia Tech
single-game record for free throws by scoring 20 of his 30 points
from the line and the Hokies used a huge advantage at the stripe to

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Junior guard Tonia Gerty (Port Orange, Fla.) posted a team-high 14 points and senior center Deidra Jones (Irmo, S.C.) pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds as the College of Charleston (17-7, 11-4) fell to Samford (17-7,11-4) by a 57-50 score in a Southern Conference women’s basketball game at the Carolina First Arena.
