COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The drenching rain and approach of snow
forced postponement of Clemson’s first game at the new baseball
stadium at South Carolina.
The clubs played at Clemson on Saturday, with rain delaying the
start for nearly two hours before the teams could take the field.
South Carolina won, 3-1.
Officials at both schools cautioned fans attending the heated
rivalry to bring rain gear as the schools planned to wait as long
as possible to get the games in. However, South Carolina quickly
moved to announce the rainout Sunday morning after steady rain
overnight and the approach of a system that forecasters say could
leave much of the Palmetto State with several inches of snow.
