Spurrier satisfied with 6-3 record

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier
doesn’t even want to hear suggestions this year’s Gamecocks might
have a late season swoon like the past two years.
Spurrier pointed out Tuesday that the Gamecocks are 6-3, which
for this year’s team full of young players is pretty good.
Spurrier later interrupted a reporter’s question about whether
fans should worry about another late season meltdown. The Gamecocks
lost five in a row to end 2007 and four of their last six in 2008.
Spurrier says he is just reminding his players they will likely
be underdogs the rest of the season and should simply play the best
they can.
After playing at Arkansas on Saturday, South Carolina hosts No.
1 Florida and Clemson to finish the season.
