CSU’s Houston Makes Finals, Norman Starts Heptathlon

EUGENE, Ore. - Gabrielle Houston posted a seventh-place finish in the 200m dash at the USA Track and Field Junior Nationals, Saturday.

After posting the fifth-best time in the first round with a 23.90, Houston easily qualified for the finals, run later in the day. In lane one for the finals, Houston ran 24.12 to finish seventh in the event.

With four events down in the junior heptathlon, Patria Norman has amassed 2,586 points, including a second-place finish in the shot put (10.87m / 35-8.00). In the 100m hurdles, Norman ran 15.64 to finish 11th. She also finished 15th in the 200m dash (27.07) and 17th in the high jump, clearing 1.42m (4-7.75).

Norman will finish up the event on Sunday with the long jump, javelin and 800m events.
