CofC Hosts “Charleston Benches Cancer” Game To Benefit Charleston Breast Center
Charleston, S.C. – The College of Charleston women’s basketball game against Appalachian State Saturday, February 21 has been designated the “Charleston Benches Cancer” game to help raise money for the Charleston Breast Center. This event is in conjunction with the NCAA’s “Pink Zone” breast cancer awareness month. Tipoff at the Carolina First Arena is slated for 2:00 p.m.
CofC is raising money to support the Charleston Breast Center, located in West Ashley. Fans who purchase a $10 pink t-shirt from the CBC will be admitted to this game for free and will help create a great atmosphere as Charleston recognizes the fight against breast cancer both in the community and elsewhere. During the game there will be a special “Survivor Room” for breast cancer survivors an hour prior to the game in the hospitality suite, located on the third floor.
CBC “Charleston Benches Cancer” t-shirts have been available at several men’s and women’s basketball games. T-Shirts are being sold on the concourse during the men’s basketball games against Western Carolina Feb. 11 and The Citadel Feb. 14, as well as the upcoming women’s game against Wofford this Saturday.
