CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - The Clemson women’s basketball team has
struggled on the court the past few seasons and continues to
struggle in the class.
The team posted a 2.10 grade-point average, last among the
school’s 15 teams in the academic performance report for the fall
semester released Thursday. The performance is actually up from
last year when its 2.04 GPA ranked last in the athletic department.
Six teams posted GPAs of 3.00 or better. There were 130 athletes
who finished the semester with a 3.50 GPA to make the Dean’s List,
breaking the department’s record of 123 in the spring of 2006.
The baseball team had its highest semester average ever with a
3.07. The football team finished with a 2.41 GPA, its third best
fall performance. Men’s basketball finished with a 2.52, its second
highest marks.
