Authorities have arrested a second man in the slaying of former boxing champion Vernon Forrest. Forrest was former welterweight and light middleweight boxing champion.

A man has been arrested in connection with the July shooting death of former boxing champion Vernon Forrest. Forrest was the International Boxing Federation welterweight champion in 2001, the World Boxing Council welterweight champion in 2002-2003, and the WBC light welterweight champion in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.

Former boxing champion Vernon Forrest is dead after being shot multiple times in a neighborhood southwest of downtown Atlanta.
