20 years ago around midnight on September 22, 1989, Hurricane Hugo slammed into the South Carolina coast wreaking havoc in its path. Today, we take a look back at Hurricane Hugo and the path to recovery. This is a 30 minute special.

A few showers are possible this morning along the coast and a few thunderstorms are possible this afternoon across inland areas. Highs today will be in the upper 80’s inland, low 80’s at the beaches.

It was a wet May across the area and all signs are pointing to at least a wet start to June. Another round of showers and storms are on the way for Friday.

Much calmer weather is on the way just in time for the weekend. Saturday and Sunday will feature lots of sunshine and temperatures in the upper 80’s.

A storm system down to our south will spread clouds and even a few showers today. The weather will be improving in time for the holiday weekend!
