The switch to digital television is here. Channel 2 will complete the transition here in the lowcountry when we turn off our analog signal at 11:30 tonight.

DTV transition begins tonight, but not for all Charleston stations
On Tuesday, hundreds of TV stations across the country switch from analog to digital transmission even though Congress voted to delay the deadline. In Charleston, only the Fox and ETV stations switch on Tuesday. The rest, including WCBD-TV 2, wait until June 12.

Some TV stations make the DTV switch Tuesday, most do not
Don’t be confused by the digital switch. In Charleston, it’s simple. Local Fox and ETV stations will switch Tuesday night. The rest, including WCBD, will wait until June 12.
