South Carolina jobless rate ties record, Lowcountry counties dip

Bill would give employers money for hiring unemployed workers in South Carolina
A bill introduced by a top Republican legislator would give employers up to $2,400 in tax credits if they hire unemployed workers. Senate Majority Leader Harvey Peeler said Tuesday his bill would pay employers $100 for each month the worker is on the payroll, for up to two years.
